On the landing page of morgenstile.at there is a collection of my latest instagram pictures. Up to now i was using the feed of a tumblr blog i was posting the pictures on. A few days ago @gruzilla released a php implementation of the instagram API. Today I implemented it into my landing page.
Bis vor einer Woche habe ich im Blog sehr viele Spam Kommentare erhalten. Diese wurden zwar nahezu alle von Akismet erkannt, trotzdem hab ich mich nach einem anderen Plugin umgesehen. Mit “Ntz Antispam” hab ich auch was passendes gefunden. Die Anzahl der Spamkommentare ist seit der Installation um ein Vielfaches zurück gegangen. Dieses Plugin wird zwar den Akismet Counter verlangsam und nicht dazu beitragen Spam besser zu erkennen, komfortabler ist es aber alle mal.
Yesterday I wrote a little blog post about instagr.am. I was wondering if i could integrate those pictures i create into the landingpage of my homepage. As Instagram does not provide an API up to now i was looking for a workaround. Sharing pictures to tumblr is very easy and only one switch away. So I set up a tumblr account, share the pictures I take to it and read the tumblr rss feed on my page.

Mein kleines Nebenprojekt, welches im Moment wieder brach liegt, hat immer wieder spannende Suchbegriffe, mit denen auf Google gesucht und ein Schnitzel gefunden wurde, hervorgezaubert. Dazu hab ich bereits einmal geblogt. Nun eine Liste der spannensten Suchbegriffe.
One of the people I follow (@sauerstoff) recommended Plancast a couple of times. As he always seems to have a good sense for new trends and plancast looks interessting I decided to give it a try. Plancast is, as the name declares, an application that lets you cast your plans. You just visit the page, tell them what you plan to do and it will be automatically “casted” to your friends. It is a full web2.0 plattform with a Twitter like follow system. You are able to subscribe to someones plans and others will subscribe to yours without needing to approve the subscribe request. On the home screen you get an overview about your friend’s plans and also local plans. Which means plancast is a little like Facebook Events, but also like Foursquare due to its location awareness, but only in the future,… as techcrunch called it.
Heute hat das Team amerikanischer Studenten, das sich der Entwicklung einer Facebook Alternative namens Diaspora angenommen hat, den Sourceode veröffentlicht. Da das Projekt gerade in den letzten Wochen sehr gehypet wurde und der 15. September für viele Medieninteressierte ein wichtiger Schritt für soziale Netzwerke zu werden schien, gab es heute viele Statusmeldungen und Artikel auf den einschlägigen Webseiten und Netzwerken. Leider ist das Fazit enttäuschend ausgefallen und das meiner Meinung nach nicht unbegründet.
As the globalization makes our world smaller and smaller, at least in a subjectiv point of view, television is really behind the time. I use to buy the NBA League Pass at least to watch the Playoffs and now I’ve bought the FIBA TV ticket and I really like it.
On TV you have your local selection of stations, which, for example, don’t show Basketball at all. You also have lots of ads and lots of crap filling the time between two shows you might like. With live streams you pay money, maybe a little bit more you would for your TV cable, but you get exactly what you want, where you want. That’s a glance through the eye of a customer.
There are even more benefits for the stream producer, because the setup is not that expensive for them to create their own little TV station.
