Dass Twitter nicht das Selbe ist wie Facebook, dessen bin ich mir schon länger bewusst. Ihr sicher auch. Dass man aber trotzdem Unwissenden Twitter als “so ähnlich wie Facebook” erklärt, ist auch bekannt. Der Spruch “Auf Facebook sind die Menschen mit denen man zur Schule gegangen ist, auf Twitter jene mit denen man gern wäre.” setzt die Netzwerke zumindest auf funktionaler Eben gleich. Wie eindeutig die unterschiedlichen Paradigmen schon tief im Design verankert sind, begriff ich erst vor kurzem.

plancast – the web knows now about your future too.

One of the people I follow (@sauerstoff) recommended Plancast a couple of times. As he always seems to have a good sense for new trends and plancast looks interessting I decided to give it a try. Plancast is, as the name declares, an application that lets you cast your plans. You just visit the page, tell them what you plan to do and it will be automatically “casted” to your friends. It is a full web2.0 plattform with a Twitter like follow system. You are able to subscribe to someones plans and others will subscribe to yours without needing to approve the subscribe request. On the home screen you get an overview about your friend’s plans and also local plans. Which means plancast is a little like Facebook Events, but also like Foursquare due to its location awareness, but only in the future,… as techcrunch called it.
